March’s Feature Creature

This month’s feature creature hails all the way from Germany: the Elwetritsche. That’s ‘El-vuh-tritch’ for those that have never taken a German language course. This chicken-like creature with antlers was thought to originate from crossbreeding small fowl (e.g., chickens, quails, ducks, geese) with mythical wood creatures (e.g., goblins, elves), and was targeted for the royal hunt by a Bavarian King. Unfortunately, the beast was never found, so they served the King several quails and told him the hunt was successful.

Are you shy and curious? Perhaps your inner beast is the Elwetritsche. Have you taken the Cryptid quiz to help you discover your inner beast? WHAT?! Go here and do the quiz. Don’t forget to let us know what beast lies within in the comments below.

Let the elwetritsche inspire you all to FIND YOUR INNER BEAST. Don’t forget to check into Cryptid CrossFit via Push Press 10 times or more for the month of march to earn the Elwetritsche enamel pin. #CryptidFit #FeatureCreature #Elwetritsche #CrossFit #InnerBeast
